FAQ’s

Dress Code

What is the dress code at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse?

There is no dress code at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse although many racegoers like to get dressed up for the occasion. Our number 1 advice for racegoers is to dress for the elements and keep an eye on the weather forecast leading up to the meeting. Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, like most racecourses, has very little cover. Certain race days such as Ladies Day often see racegoers get dressed up much more glamorously than on usual meetings. If you are planning on dining in one of our hospitality facilities or restaurants, please note that denim and trainers are not permitted.

Payments

Which forms of payment do you accept?

We do not currently accept American Express or Diners Club cards however, all other major debit and credit cards and cash are accepted across the site as well as Apple Pay and other mobile payment services. Cash can be withdrawn using card or mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay etc.) by visiting the race day office.

Do you accept credit cards at betting terminals?

Due to government legislation, credit cards cannot be used to place bets. Debit cards and cash can however and are widely accepted across our site.

Ticketing

Can I just turn up on the day or do I need to pre-book?

Racegoers are welcome to arrive on the day without a ticket and purchase one from one of the admission gates. This is subject to availability on the day. Racegoers should note, however, that our admission prices do rise on the day and so it is cheaper to pre-book in advance.

I’m trying to book online, but the fixture has disappeared?

Pre-bookings online can only be made up until midnight (00:00am) the day before the race day. For example, if a race meeting is taking place on the 25th June, you can only pre-book tickets up until midnight on 24th June.

How do I receive my tickets?

All tickets at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse are e-tickets. This means you will receive your tickets as an attachment to an email from us. You can either show this on your smartphone which our stewards will scan, or if you’d rather, you can print the e-ticket at home.

As a group, do we all need to arrive together?

No. Since all tickets at Bangor-on-Dee are e-tickets, you can arrive separately as each member of the group will have their own ticket. Please ensure each person attending has been given their e-ticket in advance before arranging to arrive individually.

What is the difference between hospitality and general admission?

Hospitality is a term which refers to racegoers who book into an enclosure where at least some of their food and drink is included. We have two restaurants on site which are hospitality enclosures – the Paddock Restaurant and Wynnstay Restaurant. We also have marquees and chalets open on certain race days. To enquire about hospitality bookings, please click here.

What does each enclosure offer?

I haven’t received my e-tickets for hospitality?

Hospitality bookings are usually sent their e-tickets in the two weeks leading up to the event via email. Please keep checking your junk/spam folder as the email may have been moved there by your email provider. If you still do not have it, please get in touch with hospitality@chester-races.com at least 48 hours ahead of the race day.

I need a carer to accompany me, do they also need to pay?

If you do require a carer to accompany you on the day, we can offer them a Companion Pass which is free of charge. For more information on this, please contact mail@bangorondeeraces.co.uk.

Can I bring a child with me?

Absolutely. Children aged 17 and under are admitted free of charge into the Open Course and Paddock. You don’t need to pre-book a ticket for them, simply turn up on the day with a responsible, ticket holding adult.
