Anne Duchess of Westminster Charity Day at Bangor on Dee - Wednesday 9th November

Wednesday 9th November sees the 6th running of the Anne Duchess of Westminster Memorial Steeplechase at Bangor on Dee.  Bangor on Dee was a favourite local track of the late Duchess, and the Anne Duchess of Westminster's Charity has continued the connection through sponsorship of the day and  by providing fundraising opportunities for a nominated local charity.

This year the fundraising charity is the Alderhey Imagine Appeal based at Alderhey Children's hospital in Liverpool. They will be running an auction and a raffle which will be drawn on the day, prizes include the following:

•          Morning on the Gallops with Donald McCain at Bankhouse Stables, Cholmondeley for 4 people.
•          Morning on the Gallops with Jonjo O'Neill at Jackdaws Castle, Nr Cheltenham for 4 people, with breakfast.
•          Lunch for 4 at Chester Racecourse on the prestigious Cup Day, Wednesday 9th May 2012. 
•          Champagne lunch for 4 in the Wynnstay Restaurant at Bangor on Dee on a day of choice in 2012.
•          Meal for 4 on a date to be agreed , at The Carden Arms, Tilston, Nr Malpas.

John Parrott, one of only five players to win the Snooker UK and World Championships in the same year and now BBC Racing Pundit, will be compere and auctioneer in the Alderhey Imagine Appeal Charity Lunch Marquee.  Tickets for the lunch are still available, please contact Alder Hey Imagine Appeal on: 0151 252 5742 for further information.

The six race card starts at 1.10pm, and with Donald MacCain intending to run the magnificent Peddlers Cross in the second race, the Golden Bear Beginners Steeplechase, it looks set to be a fantastic day’s racing!

 Gates open to the course at 11.30am.

 There will be a FREE bus from Wrexham General Station to the racecourse at 11.40 am, returning at 4.40 pm. 

 Course tickets are available from £7, and Paddock tickets from £17 in advance. There is limited availability in the Wynnstay and Paddock Restaurants.
