The Anne Duchess of Westminster's Charity Day




History was made at Bangor Races on The Anne Duchess of Westminster's Charity Day for Emmaus Merseyside History as the Racecourse hosted its first ever listed race. As part of the proceedings for the Anne Duchess of Westminster’s Charity Day for Emmaus, the listed race; a Mares’ Novices’ Steeplechase race over two miles and one furlong, was sponsored by Yorton Stud and The Potter Group and held a prize fund of £25,000. Six additional races made up the overall card of seven, including the 11th annual Anne Duchess of Westminster’s Memorial Handicap Steeple Chase, with a substantial prize fund of £26,000. The overall prize fund for the day of £92,000, made it the most valuable fixture in Bangor-on-Dee’s history. The charitable fund Emmaus Merseyside raised over £35,000 on the day.
