The Burlton Inn

Nestled away by the road between Ellesmere and Shrewsbury this is a quaint 18th century inn.

Inside is a delight, Fresh flowers, candles, open log fires and a range of carefully selected magazines, provide the perfect setting to unwind and relax on a cold winters night. Come summer, the masses of colour from the flowers in full bloom (for which they won an award) makes breakfast on the patio seem the only way to start the day.

Cross Foxes Inn

Only 10-minutes from the Racecourse, this is a local's local. Often you can come here on a sunny evening, sit in the conservatory looking up the river, and watch the fishermen in their waders casting flies for salmon. If you wanted to show an American friend a classic English pub, this would fit the bill nicely.
