Racing at Bangor on Dee - Wednesday 3rd March

Wednesday’s meeting has attracted a good entry for the 7 races due to take place. The highlights centre around the feature race of the day, the Ceiriog Valley Handicap Chase (3.50pm), which has drawn runners not only from the stables of Bangor-on-Dee’s normal big supporters, but also from the powerful yard of Arthur Moore in Ireland, who might have two runners at the meeting.

The two main Handicap Hurdles (3.20pm and 4.20pm) both have a number of horses also being aimed at one or two races at the Cheltenham Festival which gets under way in just over a fortnight’s time. Donald McCain could run ALWAYS BOLD in the 4.20pm, but another interesting horse entered is THAT’S RHYTHM, who won the valuable Anne Duchess of Westminster Memorial Steeple Chase here at Bangor-on-Dee in November, but now reverts to hurdles for his shrewd trainer Martin Todhunter.

There will be a FREE bus from Wrexham General Station to the racecourse at12.50pm.  First race is at 2.20pm and gates open from 12pm.  Course tickets are available from £7, and Paddock tickets from £17 in advance, with restaurant packages from £65 + VAT.
