Families, groups of friends and racing enthusiasts are in for a treat this weekend as the annual Family Funday fixture comes to Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, on Saturday 19 May. Royal celebrations will be at large and the marriage ceremony of HRH Prince Harry to Meghan Markle prior to racing.
Wrexham Lager Family Funday highlights how a day at the races can be fun for all the family and fantastic value for money. Alongside seven races on the card commencing at 13:40pm, there will be lots of fun free activities on the Course, providing extra entertainment for younger racegoers between the jump racing action. Free activities include: Soft Play, Jungle Run, a Pirate Ship and those who are brave enough can take a turn on a Mobile Climbing Wall.
A day at the races is the perfect excuse to get dressed up, but to supplement, the race day also marks the Royal Wedding and as though guests at Windsor, hats and fascinators are sure to be seen!
Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse will be offering stylish racegoers who have donned their extra special celebratory outfit the opportunity to enter a “Best Dressed Wedding Guest Competition” for a chance to win a return visit to the course with a family pass to Family Evening on Monday 20 August. Racegoers in attendance are advised to dress to impress to be first past the fashion post and simply have their photograph taken by the best-dressed team at the plinth over in the Bangor-End of the Open Course to enter. The winning outfit male or female will be crowned during the afternoon.
The Course provides a great space for families to get together with a picnic and a gazebo to enjoy a perfectly British summer afternoon in the beautiful rolling North Wales countryside. Tickets for adults can be purchased in advance from just £7 on the Course and children under 17 go FREE on Family Funday and all other racing fixtures during 2018. Parking is also available free on-site on racedays. Tickets can also be purchased on the gate upon opening at 11.30am.
