The Christmas Meeting on Friday 14 December is the final meeting of the year at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse and is the perfect opportunity to get into the festive spirit. Tuck into a homemade mince pie or a warming mulled wine whilst enjoying the fantastic seven race card.
Gates will open at 10.am, with racing action starting at 11.50am. The feature, Racebets Handicap Hurdle Race is a Challenger Staying Hurdle Series Qualifier at 2.10pm, covered by ITV4, and is aimed at horses who operate just below the top level. The course has seen an impressive 141 horses entered ahead of this fixture and it is hoped that many of these horses go on to declare. There will be some fierce competition on the track expected as challengers race for their qualifying spot.
Friday 14 December is also National Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children. To support the fantastic charity and nationwide initiative, the dress code has been relaxed for racegoers, who will be encouraged to sport a Christmas jumper! In addition, the course is offering the first 200 people through the turnstiles a complimentary Santa hat to wear during the day.
Festivities will run throughout the day. On purchasing an official racecard, racegoers will automatically be in with the chance of winning a ‘festive freebie’, prizes including Paddock Enclosure tickets and Bangor Bet vouchers will all be up for grabs!
With less than one week to go, festive hospitality packages are now sold out, however those looking to attend with general admission tickets are encouraged to purchase in advance. Tickets are available in advance from £7 on the Open Course or just £17 in the Paddock and kids go free^.
