Good News for Local Students

Service resumes at Glyndwr University as another round of Freshers started their academic year last week and Bangor-on-Dee were at the official Freshers Fair to promote a fantastic offer open to all Glyndwr University students. 

Students were invited to pose in Jockey silks provided by the Educational Charity, Racing to School in front of a @BangorRaces Instagram frame for their chance to win hospitality at a forthcoming Bangor-on-Dee fixture. Images of those who took part can be viewed here.

Both undergraduate and post graduate students with an official Glyndwr University student card can gain FREE Paddock Enclosure access* to any fixture during the 2017/2018 season. A day's racing at Bangor-on-Dee is great fun, whether you're part of a group or looking to try something new. The University and the Racecourse have a long-standing relationship, with the Racecourse keen to attract new racegoers to witness the thrill of jump racing all year round. 

General Manger Jeannie Chantler said, “Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse are pleased to be able to facilitate the students. We hope that the offering of free admission to our local students will continue to generate positive experiences amongst our young visitors and in a wider context, further promote interest in the sport.”

Located just 11 miles from the University and 20 minutes in a car, the racecourse is easily accessible and on a bus route. Rail passengers arriving at Wrexham General station can also take advantage of free transport via the complimentary bus^.

Additional tickets for perspective racegoers who do not hold a Wrexham Glyndwr University student card start from just £7 per person, Kids are admitted completely free**.

*To gain access students should show a valid Wrexham Glyndwr or NUS student card at the gate and access the Paddock Enclosure free of charge.

** Children 17 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

^Eligible to rail passengers with a valid ticket on a first come, first served basis.
