Stars of the Future Appear at Bangor-on-Dee

The Thoroughbred Breeders Association hosted the 2017 ’ TBA ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ Foal Show for the fourth consecutive year at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse on Sunday 30th July.

Entries were separated into four classes according to age and sex, with the first two placed foals in each class going forward to the Championship to decide the Show Champion and Reserve Champion, with generous cash prizes from Goffs UK Limited and prizes from Saracen Horse Feeds up for grabs.

A stellar list of candidates was whittled down and first and reserve champion crowned as follows:

(1st ) = Champion                                                                 – Entry No 6 –  Kayf Tara Colt, out of Lifestyle (DAM)

(2nd) = Reserve Champion (from over 60 entries)               – Entry No 24 –Martaline Filly, out of Miracle Maid (DAM)

Judging on the day was represented from across the British Isles and France, by trainer Dan Skelton, trainer Harry Whittington, owner of Rathmore Stud - Peter Molony, owner of Mill House Stud - Juliet Minton along with husband David, trainer Lucinda Russell and French trainer Nicolas Bertran Du Balanda.

Foals by first season sires Telescope and Pether’s Moon were among those on show, plus those by leading NH sire Kayf Tara and three from the small final crop of Midnight Legend – sire of this year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Sizing John.
