The latest phase of investment has seen the successful installation of new drainage systems and fencing across the racecourse, helping to enhance track performance, resilience and safety for horses and jockeys for years to come.

The works form part of Chester Race Company’s long-term commitment to maintaining the highest racing standards at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse and ensuring the venue continues to provide the best possible experience for participants, owners, trainers and racegoers.

With the principal infrastructure works now complete and only final finishing touches remaining, the racecourse is preparing to welcome the return of racing for the upcoming season.

Patrick Chesters, Racing Director at Chester Race Company, said: “We’re delighted to have completed this important phase of our investment at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse. These improvements will play a vital role in supporting consistently high track standards and ensuring we can continue to deliver a high-quality racing surface throughout the season.

It’s exciting to see the progress that’s been made, and we’re looking forward to welcoming horses, connections and racegoers back for the new season.”

Lily Harris, Clerk of the Course at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, said: “The completion of these improvements is a significant step forward for the racecourse. From a track management perspective, the new drainage system will help us maintain a consistent racing surface in a wider range of weather conditions, while the upgraded fencing further enhances safety and presentation around the course.”
