After the football club failed to secure a fourth consecutive promotion after finishing 7th in the Championship earlier this month, Bangor-on-Dee is hoping a day at the races will offer some light-hearted relief for local fans.
Ladies Day is set to return to the racecourse this weekend, so attendees can leave football at home and enjoy a day of glamour and music. There are prizes to be won at the best dressed competition and radio legend Toby Anstis is set to host the ultimate 90s party live after racing.
Guests just need to show proof of their season ticket at the gates* and will be granted entry for just £1.
Steve Davies, chief operating officer at Chester Race Company, which operates Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, said: “We know Wrexham fans were disappointed after missing the playoff spots, so we wanted to extend this offer and encourage them to step away from football for the day.
“Hopefully football fans can swap their red shirts for dress shirts and enjoy a great day at the races.”
Gates open at 11.30am, racing starts from 1.50pm and Toby Anstis will take the stage from 5.40pm.
