Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse is delighted to announce that Charles Owen, the leading British manufacturer of riding helmets, is to sponsor its leading Jockey & Trainer competition for 2024.
The Wrexham-based company, renowned for raising the bar in safety, has produced hand-made riding helmets for more than 110 years, having been founded by Charles Owen himself in 1911.
Remaining within the same family for four generations, the business continues to work tirelessly to improve safety for all equestrians.
Already an official partner of British Showjumping, Charles Owen will now become associated with Bangor-on-Dee’s top Jockey & Trainer accolades, with a regular leaderboard tracking the progress of the competition to be printed inside 2024 racecards.
The Charles Owen brand will also feature in the jockey’s changing rooms and across on-screen advertising at the racecourse.
Patrick Chesters, General Manager at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, said:
“We are really pleased to welcome Charles Owen, such a world-renowned brand committed to safety for equestrians, as a new partner of Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse.
“Our leading Jockey and Trainer competition provides an additional angle of interest throughout the year and offers further incentive to those riding at, or sending runners to, our racecourse.
“We thank Charles Owen for sponsoring this competition in 2024 and look forward to developing this relationship with their local racecourse over the coming year.
“Prior to the launch of the 2024 competition, we will also be recognising the top Jockey and Trainer for the remainder of 2023 in a special presentation, too.”
Maisie Sturge, Marketing Manager at Charles Owen, said:
“We are delighted to be working with Bangor on Dee Racecourse and sponsoring the leading Jockey and Trainer leaderboard throughout 2024. Charles Owen is world famous in safety, leading the way in manufacturing riding helmets for over a century. Based in Wrexham, Bangor-on-Dee is our much loved and local racecourse, and we very much look forward to working with the team to bring our partnership to life, whilst promoting a safer riding environment for all.”
