THE PERFECT PAIRING: BANGOR-ON-DEE RACECOURSE TEAMS UP WITH LOCAL VINEYARD

Published on 27 August 2026

Starting at the racecourse’s North Wales Business Day fixture on 4th September, Mount Vines products will be available for guests to purchase on site, and bottles will be gifted to winning connections of the races, such as horse owners and trainers.

Mount Vines’ wines will be the latest addition to Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse’s extensive wine list available at bars across the venue, including the private dining spaces and restaurants. Bangor-On-Dee’s on-site catering is delivered by award-winning chefs from Horseradish catering, which is part of the Chester Race Company portfolio.

Rupert Worden, Group Catering Director at Chester Race Company, commented: “We know how important it is for Bangor-On-Racecourse to support local suppliers, as our connection to the North Wales community is something we both take seriously and are proud of.

“Our goal, as with every event or business Horseradish caters for, is to create bespoke dining experiences that mean something to our guests. That process starts way beyond the dining service on the day, it starts with putting real thought into where our food and drinks come from and if they reflect who we are as a business.

“That is why working with Mount Vines makes perfect sense; we’re bringing together beautiful local wine to our loyal guests, combining a great day out at the races, amazing refreshments, and celebrating our roots.”

David and Linda Williams, founder and owners of Mount Vines, will be attending the racing fixture to introduce their Dragon’s Blush Rose and Dragon’s Sparkling Rose products to the racecourse hospitality team, who can then pass on the tasting notes to guests.”

David and Linda Williams said: “We are delighted to be signing up with Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse and very much appreciate their support of our Vineyard business. We hope that Mount Vines and the Racecourse will enjoy mutual success.”

Working with alongside local businesses not only supports the regional economy, but it also aligns with Chester Race Company’s long-term goal of achieving climate positivity by 2029, by reducing the environmental impacts of wider distribution and replacing them with homegrown products. Chester Race Company has titled its sustainability journey Roodee500, in honour of its 500th year of racing.
