Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse is a left handed jumps racecourse, nestled in picturesque countryside and surrounded by idyllic Welsh hills. Bangor-on-Dee was first used for horse racing in 1859 and over a century and a half later, horses still race on virtually the exact same track.

Going/Tracks

Good (Good to Firm in places)

Rails: Rail in same position as last meeting. Shared bends on the two and a half mile bend, and the bend into the home straight.

 

Weather

10mm rain since Friday. Tuesday: Largely dry day, with isolated showers around. Max temp 19°C Wednesday: Cloudy with rain developing thro’ the early hours, mostly clearing by late morning. Some scattered showers still around later on. Max temp 19°C Thursday & Friday: Poss. scattered showers on Thursday, with sunny spells. More settled on Friday; dry and bright, with a light breeze.


Watering:
60mm applied across the whole track in the week leading up to entries. Friday – 8mm Sunday – 7mm Monday – 6mm

Other

The A525 Whitchurch-Wrexham road is closed at Horseman’s Green. A diversion route is signposted, via the A539 through Hanmer, Penley, and Overton.
