Spooktacular Family Day

The Paddock Enclosure at Bangor-on-Dee gets you close to the post-race celebrations and the presentations to winning connections. This enclosure includes the pre-Parade, Parade Ring and Winner’s Enclosure, as well as fantastic views of the home straight. A paddock ticket is a popular choice for racegoers looking for the perfect combination of spectacular views of the track and full use of Bangor-on-Dee’s facilities.

Facilities include access to three public bars under-cover, food concessions and Bangor Bet betting terminals, the Bangor Bet betting shop, in which you can place a bet on any sport, anywhere in the country and the independent bookmakers, located on the hard standing adjacent to the Parade Ring.

Children aged 17 and under are allowed into this enclosure completely free of charge when accompanied by a full paying, responsible adult.

Dress Code: There is no formal dress code in this enclosure.

Racegoers who have a Paddock Enclosure ticket are allowed to move between the paddock and Open Course.

The 150-seater Paddock Restaurant is located opposite the Parade Ring and in close proximity to the Pre-Parade Ring. This glass fronted restaurant combines sumptuous menus and fine wine with a buzzing atmosphere. The private terrace offers the idea location from which to watch the racing or view the runners before they go to post.

Guests will enjoy a three-course menu, cash bar, tea and coffee after lunch, a complimentary racecard, table service and table service betting. Your private table will be reserved throughout the day, meaning you can come and go as you please and experience everything the racecourse has to offer.

Dress Code: the dress code in this area is smart casual. No jeans or trainers are allowed.

How do I receive my tickets?

As the raceday approaches, we’ll email you all the details on how to download your tickets. Please note that they will be digital tickets, which you will need to add to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet before arriving at the racecourse.

Follow the information below on how to access and use digital tickets:

1. Your digital tickets will be delivered to the email address on your ticketing account before the raceday.

2. Before the raceday, add your mobile ticket to your mobile wallet when viewing this email via your mobile phone.

3. When you get to the racecourse, open the mobile ticket on your phone.

4. Show your mobile device to one of our stewards and they will scan your mobile ticket.

How do I transfer my tickets?

To transfer your NFC ticket, please follow the steps below:

· First, add your ticket to your mobile wallet (Apple Wallet or Google Wallet).

· Once added, open your mobile wallet and select the ticket.

· Tap the three dots (…) in the top corner

· Scroll down and select “Transfer NFC Pass.”

· Enter the details of the person you’re transferring the ticket to and confirm.

As a group, do we all need to arrive together?

All tickets will be sent directly to the lead booker. If you are planning to arrive separately you can transfer tickets by adding them to your mobile wallet, tapping the three dots in the top corner and select “Transfer NFC Pass”.

Do you have any offers for group bookings?

Yes we do! If you book 10 or more Course or Paddock tickets, you will receive a 10% discount. Simply select the 10+ ticket option when booking online.

We have modern accessibility facilities for all racegoers including limited hard-standing parking in the car park and easy access turnstiles.

Here’s some things you may need to know:

• Our racecourse is single story, making all public areas easily accessible to disabled racegoers.
• A designated viewing area has been established in the Paddock enclosure that gives particularly good views of the track and winning post.
• Aid dogs are welcome.

Disabled racegoers will be charged the standard ticket price but if they are accompanied by a carer, the carer may enter designated areas free of charge.

If you would like to have a bet on a raceday, there are many places you can choose from. We offer Tote positions located around the racecourse or a tableside representative if you’re in hospitality. We also have a ‘BangorBet’ betting shop and a number of traditional oncourse bookmakers offering prices from their betting pitches.

You must be 18 years old to place a bet with the Tote, BangorBet or the oncourse bookmakers. Any bets found to have been placed by a person under the age of 18 will be void and stakes returned.

Cards are accepted at most of our vendors for betting and refreshments but we do advise to bring cash with you to be on the safe side.

Food and beverage concessions accept contactless payments (including Apple Pay, Google Pay etc.).

Cash can be withdrawn using card or mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay etc.) by visiting the race day office.

If you are attending racing as part of a celebration (say Hen or Stag party) and are planning on wearing fancy dress, please let Guest Services so they can provide you with further advice.

Enclosures

Dress for the different seasons at Bangor-on-Dee! Lucky for you, there’s no strict dress code in our public enclosures so grab your shorts and sunnies for summer and your coat and woolly hats for winter.

Just a heads up, there’s a few walking areas at our racecourse which are often on grassy ground so take that into account for your footwear. We don’t want your fancy shiny shoes ruined!

Hospitality

It is slightly different in our hospitality facilities and restaurants. Denim, trainers and sportswear are not allowed.

Depending on the type of admission booked, you will have a ticket or a swing-badge. Don’t shy away of flashing your swing-badge! Hand it from your button hole or handbag strap so that it can be readily seen by our team.

You’ll be spoilt for choice with all our food and drink options that are available on a raceday.

Within the Open Course, feel free to bring a picnic (including alcohol) and BBQs if we are blessed with the glorious sunshine, however please be considerate to other racegoers when operating a BBQ.

We do not allow picnics or alcohol into the Paddock Enclosure. But don’t worry! The Paddock Enclosure has a lot of tasty treats and drinks for you to choose from. Whether you fancy a mouth-watering burger or want to keep it traditional with fish and chips – there’s something for everyone!

By Rail

Wrexham General Station is the closest to the racecourse and a FREE bus service operates from the racecourse on race days. Timings will be confirmed closer to the raceday.

By Bus

Wrexham Council provides a bus service in the local area and bus timetable information can be found here.

By Air

If you are travelling by helicopter to the racecourse, please call our racecourse office beforehand on 01978 782 081 to confirm arrival/departure times and landing area etc.

Parking

Car parking on site at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse is FREE to racegoers on race days.
