Betting at Bangor offers a full Tote service with Win, Place, Exacta, Trifecta, Placepot and all the other usual Tote products. Although operated by our own Bangor staff, all Tote wagers will go into the main pool with predicted returns shown around the course on our screens, with both “home” and “away” dividends shown.

As soon as the result is known the winning returns will be displayed on the screens and you will be able to go and collect your winnings from any of the Bangor Tote windows. In addition to the pool betting we also operate a betting shop with all the usual offerings you will find with any high street bookies. In here we can take multiple bets on horses in addition to bets on other sports such as golf, football and cricket.

Alternatively, we have a number of independent bookmakers in the Betting Ring who will be able to accommodate you with a fixed price.

Cards are accepted at most of our vendors for betting and refreshments but we do advise to bring cash with you to be on the safe side.

Food and beverage concessions accept contactless payments (including Apple Pay, Google Pay etc.).

Cash can be withdrawn using card or mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay etc.) by visiting the race day office.

If you are attending racing as part of a celebration (say Hen or Stag party) and are planning on wearing fancy dress, please let Guest Services so they can provide you with further advice.

Enclosures

Dress for the different seasons at Bangor-on-Dee! Lucky for you, there’s no strict dress code in our public enclosures so grab your shorts and sunnies for summer and your coat and woolly hats for winter.

Just a heads up, there’s a few walking areas at our racecourse which are often on grassy ground so take that into account for your footwear. We don’t want your fancy shiny shoes ruined!

Hospitality

It is slightly different in our hospitality facilities and restaurants. Denim, trainers and sportswear are not allowed.

Depending on the type of admission booked, you will have a ticket or a swing-badge. Don’t shy away of flashing your swing-badge! Hand it from your button hole or handbag strap so that it can be readily seen by our team.

You’ll be spoilt for choice with all our food and drink options that are available on a raceday.

Within the Open Course, feel free to bring a picnic (including alcohol) and BBQs if we are blessed with the glorious sunshine, however please be considerate to other racegoers when operating a BBQ.

We do not allow picnics or alcohol into the Paddock Enclosure. But don’t worry! The Paddock Enclosure has a lot of tasty treats and drinks for you to choose from. Whether you fancy a mouth-watering burger or want to keep it traditional with fish and chips – there’s something for everyone!

Wrexham General Station is the closest to the racecourse and a FREE bus service operates from the racecourse on race days. Timings will be confirmed closer to the raceday.

By Bus

Wrexham Council provides a bus service in the local area and bus timetable information can be found here.

By Air

If you are travelling by helicopter to the racecourse, please call our racecourse office beforehand on 01978 782 081 to confirm arrival/departure times and landing area etc.

Parking

Car parking on site at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse is FREE to racegoers on race days.

An official Bangor-on-Dee racecard has all the information you need for your day at the races.

Racecards are available to purchase from selected vendors throughout the course priced at just £4.00.

We do offer upgrades to a restaurant package from your general admission ticket on the day but our hospitality areas fill up pretty fast so we recommend calling our team prior to secure your place on 01244 304631.
