Sky Sports Racing presenter Vanessa Binnie Ryle visited Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse to sample what you can expect from a day’s racing at the only track in North Wales.
Take a look at the feature which explores the racecourse’s offering; from its fantastic new Owners and Trainers Suite, to the course’s picturesque surroundings, top class racing and outstanding facilities.
During her trip, Vanessa had the opportunity to talk to trainers, racecourse staff and loyal racegoers alike who gave their insights into the charming track.

Giving everybody great facilities so that they can come and enjoy their day at the races is synonymous at both tracks.”
Leading Trainer at the course, Donald McCain explains his love for the track: “They look after people so well here. Ground wise they have as good a team in charge than any in the country” Donald also went on the praise the new Owners and Trainers Restaurant at Bangor-on-Dee. The facilities for owners have aided the achievement of two awards, The ROA Gold standard Awards and he ROA Small Racecourse of the year award 2017 and 2018.
Andrew Morris, Head of Racing “On a sunny day I think it’s probably the most beautiful racecourse you could have. We’ve seen some great novice hurdlers and novice chasers who have won here before going onto really big success at Cheltenham and Aintree.”
The course is staging 14 exciting jump racing fixtures in 2020 between 7 February and 11 December, why not join them and enjoy the unique ‘Bangor’ experience for yourself.
